June 7–8 Overland Flooding in Minitonas, Manitoba
On June 7 and 8, 2026, Minitonas and the surrounding Swan Valley region were struck by intense rainfall that caused sudden overland flooding. Within hours, roads were washed out, fields became lakes, and power outages left parts of the community cut off. The flooding was unprecedented in scale, forcing evacuations and leaving widespread damage to homes, businesses, and public spaces.
For our congregation, the losses were especially difficult. The church manse and the Oasis property both sustained significant water damage, affecting not only the buildings but also the ministries and outreach programs they support. These places have long been at the heart of our town’s spiritual and community life, making their loss deeply felt.
We are now working toward recovery and invite those who wish to help to consider making a donation.
